Nikki,
I still remember watching you skate and laughing with you all those years ago. I’m so glad to hear that you now have what you’ve hoped for: a new set of lungs! My partner passed away very unexpectedly three years ago and we were able to donate his organs to help others in need. Hearing your story gives me hope that great people like you were helped during such a difficult time.
Huge squeezes and lots of love to you and yours for a super speedy recovery and a return to life of greater comfort and more fun!

My Deb ‘Muffy’ Marvin (Aunti Dee Dee) shared this link & what an impressive happy new recipient of 2 new lungs. Nikki suffers from Cystic Fibrosis as do my handsome nephew & my beautiful niece. SO happy for her as its been 3 months & I guess she was singing, “All I want for Christmas is my two new lungs…” Her wishes came true & she was so grateful in honor of her donor she & others donated 283 toys. Very remarkable. I love the angel wings in honor of your donor atop your tree. We have wings on ours as well & feathers & pennies all from Heaven. Best of luck to you & your family. I will continue to keep you in our prayers. Wonderful story.

My son Jacob died on August 1, 2013 and his lungs were gifted to a 46 year old(young) lady from Minnesota. For some odd reason, I have a strong belief your new lungs are from him. Wishing you a Happy New Year and praying for a long life for you and your new lungs!

Jackie, I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your son. I did not receive my transplant until the end of August so I don’t believe my lungs would be Jacob’s. Thank you for reaching out to me with wishes and prayers. I pray you find peace knowing Jacob was able to donate and his legacy lives on. Take care, Nikki

Not sure if you remember me, I am Sue Borgerson, Kayla’s Mom from Life-Source. CF runs in my family, you and I have talked about that before.
I am wondering if you ever meet patients awaiting transplants. My 2nd cousin is at the U of M in isolation awaiting a double lung transplant. Her name is Rose Davidson, she has been there about 3 weeks. I am hoping to get down there to see her soon. If you see here, tell her Hello from Kayla’s Mom! It’s a small world and you two may connect at some point! borgerson@charter.net
