On Sunday at the benefit, Bret Michaels was a class act. He was very genuine with a kind heart. Travis and I were a couple of the people given the chance to meet him and pose for a photo. We ended up talking with him for quite a while.
Since Bret is diabetic we started talking about diabetes. I was showing him my OmniPod insulin pump. He had heard about it but did not know anyone who used it. He then proceeded to ask me for my phone number (don’t worry Travis was standing there). Who knows if I will ever hear from him but he had said he wanted to talk about the insulin pump with me further.
He proceeded to play an amazing acoustic performance. He mentioned it had been a while since he had played acoustically and you could tell he was enjoying himself just as much as the audience was enjoying listening. He also wanted to run his own live auction when he autographed and then auctioned off the guitar he was playing. Our great friend, Jay, ended up “winning”.
Today, Bret even posted a quick video on YouTube:

Thanks for coming! it was amazing to watch you perform and what a great cause for the cystic fibrosis foundation! We need more people like you in the world! Thanks so much!
